This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) provides details about how Ceres Life Insurance Company (“Ceres,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and discloses personal information that we obtain through our website, portals, applications, and other online services (collectively, the “Services”). Please read this Policy carefully before you use the Services or submit information to us.

We may collect three types of personal information from users: (1) information provided by users when they interact with our Services; (2) information obtained from agents/producers; and (3) information passively collected from users when they use our Services.
Information Provided by Users and Obtained from Our Agents. We may collect personal information users voluntarily provide to us, such as when a user contacts us via our Services, communicates with an agent or producer, or otherwise interacts with us. Please note that if you are a policyholder, information you provide to our agents/producers may show up in your portal. Specifically, we may collect the following categories of personal information in this manner:

Information Passively Collected from Users. We may collect personal information passively through our Services, such as via cookies, and other tracking technologies, such as web beacons and pixels. This information may include:
Identifiers, such as internet protocol address, browser type, browser version, and other unique identifiers
Commercial information, such as insurance products purchased, obtained, or considered
Geolocation data, such as device location
Internet or other network information, such as the pages of our Services that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages, and the content and advertisements you may have accessed or seen

II. Cookies and Tracking Technology
Cookies. A “cookie” is a small file placed on your device when you visit a site that can be understood by the site that issued the cookie. We may use cookies and other technologies, including device identifiers, to collect information and support certain features of our Services. For example, we may use these technologies to:
Help our Services function properly
Collect information about the ways users use our Services – which pages they visit, which links they use, and how long they stay on each page
Support the features and functionality of our Services – for example, to save you the trouble of reentering information already in our database
Personalize your experience when you use our Services – for example, suggesting insurance products based off past purchases
Improve our marketing efforts, including through use of targeted advertising
Depending on your Internet browser, you may be able to change your settings to block and/or erase cookies from your device. You can check your browser instructions to learn more about these functions. Please note that if you block or reject cookies and similar technologies on our Services, functionality of the Services may be limited.
Web Beacons and Pixels. We may use other similar technologies from time to time, like web beacons, pixels (or “clear gifs”), and other tracking technologies. Pixels are tiny graphics files that contain a unique identifier that enable us to recognize when someone has visited our Services. This allows us, for example, to monitor the traffic patterns of visitors from one page within our Services to another, to deliver or communicate with cookies, to understand whether you have come to our Services from an online advertisement displayed on a third-party website, to improve Services performance, to serve targeted advertisements to you and others like you, and to measure the success of marketing campaigns.
If you would like to opt-out of having interest-based information collected by certain entities during your visits to our Services or other websites, please visit http://www.aboutads.info/choices/. You will be directed to an industry-developed website that contains mechanisms for choosing whether each listed entity may collect and use data for online behavioral advertising purposes. It may be that some of the third parties that collect interest-based information on our Services do not participate in the industry-developed opt-out website, in which case the best way to avoid third-party tracking of your online behaviors may be through your browser settings and deletion of cookies.
